• Each participant decides and defines a unique character that will use the city.
• A second participant proposes a Haiku poem for the character.
• A third participant creates a sketch based on the character and haiku.
• A team of 3-4 participants writes a manifesto in relation to one or more characters. • The team presents a performance for the character in the city.
The topics of inclusion, sustainability and awareness are entangled in a playful process where the urban context becomes a backdrop to perform and highlight issues of exclusion in the city. The URBAN EMPATH/ workshop immerses participants in a series of processes which creatively explore notions of empathy through the performative arts, design, video, drawing, creative writing and urban exploration. You are invited to imagine, expose and re-tell stories of exclusion in the urban context, engaging in the realities of people, conditions, and beyond human creatures excluded in the public sphere as we know it.
